If you wish to become a Job Steward, contact your Chapter Director. Your Director will make arrangements to have a CAUSE representative train you.

There are several benefits to becoming a Job Steward. A Job Steward becomes very comfortable reading and understanding the current contract. That knowledge allows rangers and lifeguards to perform their job duties in the best possible manner.

A few additional notes should also be mentioned. Job Stewards are encouraged to attend board meetings. These meetings are held throughout the state and require additional time that the Department of Parks and Recreation will not cover. The Department does not pay differential pay for participating in this program.
